Chartered accountants · Working remotely

Accounts that read like plain English.

We look after year-end accounts, tax and the day-to-day bookkeeping for small businesses that would rather spend their evenings doing almost anything else.

One accountant, all year

You work with the same person from the first conversation onward — not a new name every filing season.

What we handle

Four things, done properly.

We keep the service list short on purpose. Everything below is work we do week in, week out for businesses roughly your size.

Year-end accounts

Statutory accounts prepared, explained and filed — with a summary you can actually read.

  • Limited company accounts
  • Corporation tax return
  • Confirmation statement

Personal tax

Self assessment handled from a tidy checklist, with the deadline tracked on our side.

  • Sole trader returns
  • Director & dividend income
  • Rental property pages

Bookkeeping & payroll

Records reconciled monthly so nothing has to be rebuilt from a shoebox in January.

  • Monthly reconciliation
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll & pension filings

Advisory

A quarterly look at the numbers before decisions get made, rather than long afterwards.

  • Cash flow planning
  • Salary & dividend mix
  • Company structure

How it works

Three steps, no surprises.

Most people get in touch because they are unsure what happens next. Here is the whole thing.

01

A first conversation

Half an hour to hear where the business is, what is already in place and what is keeping you up at night. No charge, no obligation.

02

A written scope

You receive a plain summary of what we will do, when each deadline falls and what it costs — as a fixed monthly figure, agreed before work begins.

03

The year, handled

We collect what we need, chase gently, file on time and check in each quarter. You hear from us before a deadline, not after it.

Who we help

Small enough to know your business by name.

We work with owner-managed businesses across a handful of familiar shapes. If yours looks like one of these, we will already know the questions to ask.

  • Sole traders and freelancersFirst returns, growing invoices, and the question of when to incorporate.
  • Growing limited companiesPayroll arriving, VAT looming and a founder still doing the books at midnight.
  • LandlordsA handful of properties, mixed finance costs and returns that need care.
  • Creative studiosProject-based income, irregular months and a need for cash flow that reads clearly.

Before you enquire

Questions we are asked most.

If yours is not here, put it in the form below and we will answer it directly.

How are your fees worked out?
As a fixed monthly amount based on the scope we agree at the start — company size, how many filings are involved and how tidy the records arrive. You will see the figure in writing before anything begins, and it does not change mid-year without a conversation.
Can you take over from our current accountant?
Yes, and it is more routine than most people expect. We write to them for the handover information, review what has already been filed and tell you plainly if anything needs correcting before we carry on.
Which bookkeeping software do you work with?
The common cloud packages, and spreadsheets too. If you already have a system that works, we will fit around it. If you do not, we will set up something simple rather than something impressive.
What happens if a deadline is close?
Tell us in the form. We will say honestly whether it is workable, what we would need from you and by when. We would rather turn something down than take it on and miss it.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. The practice works remotely by default — calls, video and a shared folder for documents. Everything from the first conversation to the final sign-off can happen without a trip across town.

Tell us where things stand.

A few lines is plenty. We will read it properly and reply with either an honest answer or a time for that first half-hour conversation.

Nothing is committed at this stage, and we will not put you on a mailing list.

We reply to every enquiry, usually within two working days.
